February 28, 2008 - Andy Murray was born on March 3, 1951 in Gladstone, Manitoba, Canada. He is best known for his leadership role as head coach for the St. Louis Blues.

Prior to accepting the head coaching position in St. Louis, Murray coached the Los Angeles Kings from 1999 to 2006.

When he was younger, Andy Murray worked at his family's auto dealership. Once he turned 25, his uncle hired him to be the coach of the Brandon Travelers. While still working at the dealership, three years later, Murray received the head-coaching position at Brandon University in Manitoba. As the years went on, Murray took coaching jobs in Switzerland, for the Hershey Bears, Philadelphia Flyers, Minnesota Stars (made it to the Stanley Cup Finals), a position in Germany, the Winnipeg Jets and finally for the Canadian National Hockey Team in 1996 for two years.

Murray is ownership to three gold medals from the IIHF World Championships in 1997, 2003 and 2007. He currently is married to his wife Ruth and has three children, Brady, Jordan and Sarah, who all play hockey.
